Discoveries in our Erasmus days in Copenhagen, Denmark

This year, our school has been awarded the Erasmus + project. We had the opportunity to go to Denmark or to Poland. The only thing we had to do was to write a recommendation letter explaining why we deserved this opportunity. Finally, I was one of the lucky ones to be chosen.

The experience was amazing, but I particularly want to talk about our days in Copenhaguen. We flew in the morning on the 20th of April, our flight was at 3 pm but the plain took off with an hour of delay.

Our hostal was 10 minutes walk from the underground station, so we had to walk with the suitcase though Copenhaguen´s streets.

The minute we arrived, we had dinner because it was too late. Lately we went to out rooms. Although they weren´t too big, the bed were comfortable and they looked like capsules, so the two nights we stayed in the hostel we slept very well.

Next day in the morning we went touring. We signed up for a free tour and the man who showed us most of Copenhagen was very king and funny. He showed us the old parts of the city, the famour Nyhavn port, the mornarchs´houses and some emblematic streets while he was explaining Copenhagen´s history and some interesting facts. We finally visited The Little Mermaid and Chistiania, a very particular community. At the end of the day we could enjoy a party that was taking place in our hostel.

Copenhagen has given me lots of interesting facts. For example, that almost everyone uses their bike for moving through the city. It has shown me that they really enjoy a good beer, and the most important thing I have learned is how citizens respect each other and how that is reflected in the silence of the city and the organization of the houses.

I faithfully believe that this experience was an eye opener because I have discovered there are lots of fascinating cultures that remain to be seen.
